Community Alzheimer Program
The Community Alzheimer Program offers a variety of programs and services to meet the needs of persons living in the community with a dementia.
Dinner Club and Overnight Stay Programs are currently only available at Kitchener location.
Led by a qualified team of health care professionals, the Community Alzheimer Program offers Day, Evening and Overnight Stay programs to provide meaningful social and recreational opportunities for persons living with dementia in the community. For care providers, the programs provide for the opportunity to have a temporary rest, supporting the continued ability of families to provide care, safely, in the home.
The Community Alzheimer Program is operated by the Region of Waterloo and funded by the Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integration Network.
Day Program Services provide care and therapeutic programming for persons with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. (extended hours may be available).
Dinner Club Program
Dinner Club Program's provide care and therapeutic programming for persons with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia between the hours of 1:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays (extended hours may be available).
Young Onset Dementia Association (YODA)
An innovative program offering physical, intellectual and social stimulation to adults diagnosed before the age of 65. Participants will have input in the programming design, recognizing and drawing on their individual interests, hobbies, life experiences, and skills. Program is offered on Wednesdays in Waterloo.
Overnight Stay Program
Overnight Stay is a planned, short stay service offering overnight care for persons with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Weekday and Weekend stay available. Weekday program operates Monday afternoon to Friday morning. Weekend program operates Friday afternoon to Monday morning.
Participants enjoy a therapeutic, social and recreational experience tailored to the needs of persons with a dementia. Secured, welcoming "home-like' environment, including an open concept dining room and living room and kitchen, hot, home cooked meals. Assistance is available for those who require support with meals, personal care and medication (including diabetes). Initial and ongoing assessments of each participant including referrals to other community resources/agencies.

Waterloo Day Program (250 Laurelwood Dr., Waterloo ON)
|Regular Day (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri. 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
|YODA (Wednesdays 11 a.m.- 4 p.m.)
