Bridges Supportive Housing Program provides 20 bachelor apartments of permanent, affordable rental housing with attached, on-site supports for adults (16+) experiencing housing instability. The program is focused on providing harm reduction with practical supports for tenants to live independently and improve their quality of life through providing: life skills assistance, social and recreational programs, access to low-cost food support, service coordination with external agencies, and ongoing housing based support through dedicated daytime staff. Our program is co-located within the same building as our emergency shelter program and offers 24-7 access to staffing.

The program offers 16 private bedrooms in two residential houses located beside one another where tenants share responsibilities for household duties. Kaljas' philosophy is to create an environment where people feel healthy and strong, and to inspire them to reach overall wellness - physical, mental, emotional, and social.  The program provides community inclusion activities, medication support, crisis planning, practical assistance with independent living, and ongoing service coordination with community supports.  The staff are available on-site each day until 9 pm with access to overnight staff on an on-call basis.

Underhill Residence is a shared living supportive housing program located in a large century home near Uptown Waterloo, for males/trans ages 16+ . The program operates from a recovery informed approach, where tenants are empowered to be active participants in their support planning.  The focus of the programming is on building independence and skills, empowering choice, and participating in community life.  Tenants rent private or semi-private rooms, with shared common space, and are encouraged to participate in the care of the home, including cleaning, yard work, and a community meal program. Tenants need to be independently mobile and able to climb stairs. Staffing is onsite and available 24/7.

It will also offer a food hamper program, and equipment loans program.
